When I first met Lara in Yangchun, I couldn't believe how beautiful and healthy she was.
Within a day, I knew that we were perfectly suited for each other.
Lara is outgoing and happy, as well as strongminded and very independent. She is
truly the heart of our family.
Here's Lara's referral photograph on the right, taken when she was about 3 months old.
Even then, you can see she was very alert, taking everything in. Now, you can't slip anything by her at all.
About Lara:
- Lara can talk in understandable sentences now. Her favorite sentences
are "I want candy." and "I don't want to."
We're beginning to think she may be potty trained by the end of the summer. (then again, maybe not)
- Lara loves to be out and about and doing things more than anything else.
She's very active and loves to dance and run and swing and climb.
- Lara hates to be left out of anything she sees us doing.
If we don't let her do what we're doing, she really feels that she's
being badly mistreated.
- When Lara grows up, I think she'll be a famous jockey or maybe a circus acrobat, because she's
very agile, very small, loves animals, is completely fearless, and really enjoys
compliments and attention.

Here's a photo of us all, taken on Lara's 2nd birthday. I'm holding Lara.
Behind me, is my brother and his wife, Dawn, and my mother and father. Next to me is Dawn's
sister, and her new daughter, Tyler. Can you believe that Lara was nearly that
small when I adopted her a year ago?
